Suzannah speaks at Coworth Park… x

We were invited to take part in one of a series of Speakers lunches at Coworth Park Ascot. The audience enjoyed a beautiful Michelin Star 3 course lunch with champagne and chocolates. During coffee Suzannah spoke about her history and told the story of her career and the brand path. Then she progressed into the etiquette for the social season events and what to wear for black and white tie whilst our beautiful model Rebecca walked the room in her Suzannah outfits dressed from head to heel in coordinated stylish millinery dress coat and shoes. Kate Wilkinson provided the make up and hair and created Rebecca into a perfect modern-day Audrey Hepburn. Here are the etiquette guidelines with accompanying photographs from the event…x

Style Etiquette

Ascot

Royal Enclosure

  • Dresses and skirts should be of modest length de ned as falling just above the knee or longer.
  • Dresses and tops should have straps of one inch or greater.
  • Jackets and pashminas may be worn but dresses and tops underneath should still comply with the Royal Enclosure dress code.
  • Trouser suits are welcome. They should be of full length and of matching material and colour.
  • Jumpsuits are welcome. They should be of full-length to the ankle, with regulations matching that for dresses.
  • Hats should be worn; however a headpiece which has a solid base of 4 inches (10cm) or more in diameter is acceptable as an alternative to a hat.
  • Fascinators are not permitted; neither are headpieces which do not have a solid base covering a sufficient area of the head (4 inches/10cm).
  • Strapless, off the shoulder, halter neck and spaghetti straps are not permitted.
  • Midriffs must be covered.

Queen Anne and Village Enclosures

Ladies within the main Queen Anne Enclosure and Village Enclosure areas are encouraged to dress in a manner as benefits a formal occasion and ladies are kindly asked to take note of the following:

  • A hat, headpiece or fascinator should be worn at all times.
  • Strapless or sheer strap dresses and tops are not permitted.
  • Trouser suits and jumpsuits must be full length and worn with a top that adheres to the guidelines above.
  • Midriffs must be covered.
  • Shorts are not permitted.

Windsor Enclosure

Whilst encouraging racegoers to wear smart clothes, no formal dress code applies in the Windsor Enclosure except that replica sports shirts are not permitted.

Henley

Stewards Enclosure

  • Ladies are required to wear dresses or skirts with a hemline below the knee. Ladies will not be admitted wearing divided skirts, culottes or trousers of any kind.
  • Whilst not a requirement, it is customary for ladies to wear hats.

Regatta Enclosure

  • The atmosphere is less formal than the Stewards’ Enclosure as there is no dress code, although many who attend do enter into the spirit of the Regatta, wearing club blazers and other rowing apparel.

Wimbledon

Royal Box

  • No official dress code
  • Can be cold so could need a coat
  • No need for hat
  • Tea Dress is a good option

Glynedbourne

  • Formal evening dress is customary for the summer Festival.
  • Given the perils of the British weather, it is advisable to bring an additional, warm layer: cardigans, wraps and jackets are a good idea
  • Lisa Dress is a good option
