MENCAP and SUZANNAH charity fashion show at Goldsmiths Hall…x

Thank you so much to those who came to our evening charity Fashion Show in support of MENCAP. It was great to see so many friendly faces supporting MENCAP and SUZANNAH. We are thrilled to share that the total raised on the evening was £45K net which went directly to the charity. It was a beautiful event. Guests enjoyed a drinks and canapé reception, followed by a SUZANNAH fashion show together with the collaborations of Suzannah with the best in British millinery. A thank you to Emmy and Rupert Sanderson for the beautiful shoes. Rae Feather supported with their luxury straw bags which proved the perfect accessory for our tea dresses.

The elegant models walked to beautiful music by Kali Uchis, Lola Marsh, Florence and the Machine and Jamie XX with their slick leather tied pony tails providing the perfect neat canvas for the most amazing hats. The make up of matt lilac hued lips with an exaggerated eye line gave a modern slick lift to a vintage idea. The Goldsmiths kindly lit their spectacular candelabras for us and give the show a unique experience of a catwalk show by candle light. Below captures imagery from our two most popular looks from the show. Please look at our Instagram to see our videos. A special thank you to every one who came, donated and bought tickets, and a big enormous thank you to the BAFTA winning British actress Olivia Colman who came to support us and to help raise the profile of this amazing charity!

There is still a possibility to donate via the MENCAP website

Fun Full Skirted Fabulousness. Retro Fifties Dress In Orange..x

I blogged about the Kaleidoscope dress in fab Orangey Red when we first showcased it at London Fashion Week for SS12.  Martha Ward had loved it, spied it and blogged about it for Vogue.co.uk.

Well its finally here. The dress itself has so many characteristics that it has taken a little while to launch. The fabric was woven especially for this style in Italy, the exact colour of the dress

was achieved by dying the yarns to the colour of a 1950’s ballgown. The lustre of the structured cloth shines orange, and sometimes red. It is quite difficult to describe the depth and intensity of the

vintage twill weave. I guess it has to be seen or imagined.

The structured hooped style of the skirt has been lengthened a little to fall in line with the season’s feeling for true 1950’s spirit. Each hoop of the skirt is supported by a lightweight crinoline,

which gives the fun circular shape some structure. The balance works well though, with the slightly dropped waist and wonderfully fitted bodice, the dress is without a doubt totally flattering.

The neat front placed tissue pockets, are there to add an extra ounce of charm, and are fun to move the skirt around with.

Tiny waist making ,..absolutely joyful to wear and an updated Audrey Hepburn classic, which could make you smile , glide and twirl around into the next decade and for decades to come too.

Heels are a must for this frock. It is for fun, for parties and fabulous events whichever the season.

and,..if the dress is worn to an event, for which indeed it would be perfectly placed. We recommend Alnatt by Gina Foster.
