I fell in love with this beautiful print from a french archive. I found the original artwork which dates back to the 1930s. The clean polka dots swirl into a divine floral pattern. I translated the colours of the print to give the design more depth, and translated it onto a smooth silk crepe, instantly giving the print a modern interpretation. The warm butter cream base colour is contrasted with a soft black and printed onto the most divine weight of silk by our printers in Como Italy. which holds a certain tailored structure whilst being of a light-medium weight. Divine to wear, and can be worn throughout the day looking just as immaculate from beginning to end.
One of the pieces we have created from this wonderful cloth is the 1950s inspired Dancehall dress It is a fabulous silhouette which has a beautiful tailored fit over the bodice , with a slim 3/4 sleeve. The dress is a ‘waisted’ silhouette with a divine full skirt which falls below the knee. The model in our shoot is of height 6ft, and so the dress appears a little shorter than our spec. The dress is available ‘off-the-peg’ in our ready to wear collection.
The dress looks fabulous with our wool and silk cream honest coat and gorgeous points, creating THE most divine look for a winter wedding or chic society event. Whilst the dress itself can be styled down with a smart blazer or simple merino knit and ballet flats for day. The dress looks divine with smooth bare hosiery and opaques for the winter months too. A season less investment piece.
